Olga Škrancová represents the "new blood" at Prague jazz scene. She sings standards starting from the early swing through the bebop era with a unique jazz feeling, great invention, original improvisation, and secure intonation. Her debut album released in 2003 stands on the velvet shade of her voice and she will gradually pull you into the romantic corners of her soul. This of course works not only on jazz-lovers.
"Someone said that she sings as a black woman and he was not far from the truth. (...) this great record is the right thing for audience which loves skillfully presented standards that stand on excellent intonation and vocal quality of Olga Škrancová." (J.Fabián, jazzport)
This album was debut not only for Olga Škrancová, but also for our label. Lucie Kukulová backed up other CDs before, but this is the first album under the Amplión letter head. (Amplion Rec.)
