Czech Philharmonic Quartet / České filharmonické kvarteto (Štepán Pražák violin, Viktor Mazáček violin, Jiří Poslední viola, Jakub Dvořák cello)
The Czech Philharmonic Quartet was founded in 2000 on the initiative of members of the Czech Philharmonic. The sound of the quartet, which is typical for the Czech quartet school, is highly regarded by the critics. The Czech Philharmonic Quartet appears regularly in the chamber music series of the Czech Philharmonic and at festivals and concert series in the Czech Republic and abroad (Great Britain, Luxembourg, Germany, Japan, Israel, China, Slovakia). The quartet participated in the Japanese version of the “Mozart Effect” and recorded a whole series of Mozart compositions as part of that project. The ensemble has recorded Mozart’s “Haydn Quartets”, “Prussian Quartets” for the Japanese label Octavia Records and Janáček's works for Czech label ArcoDiva.
