The pianist and composer Martin Brunner drew attention with his two previous self-penned albums. ANIMAL MUSIC is now presenting his third project, in which he and the other two members of his trio (Tomáš Hobzek - percussion, Rastislav Uhrík - double bass), who alongside Brunner are among the finest Czech jazz musicians, joined forces with the Epoque Quartet. On the album, the strings parts play an equal role to those of the jazz trio, with the resulting composition, the album's title track MORNING WALKS, being an integrated formation of mutually connected musical shapes, as is after all evident from their names too (for the most part, the artist denominates the pieces by sequence numbers only). The ten-movement composition featured on the MORNING WALKS album presents Brunner in top form, both as composer and performer, and provides an extraordinary contemporary blend of jazz and classical.
