The Beethoven String Trio is formed by Czech musicians Pavel Hůla, primarius of the Kocian Quartet, conductor and professor of chamber music at the Prague Academy of Performing Arts (AMU), together with Josef Klusoň and Michal Kaňka, the violist and cellist of the renowned Pražák Quartet. After many years of performing together, they decided to formalise their shared experience. Their reference to Beethoven signals a clear artistic focus on music from the 19th century to the present day, with a single exception: their dedication to Mozart’s celebrated Divertimento K 563 and to Beethoven’s masterful string trios.
