Formed in 1963, Olympic were among the first Czech beat groups to appear on vinyl in 1964 and the first to have an album released in 1968. They have written and performed exclusively their own songs since then, with lyrics mainly in Czech. Apart from a brief hiatus in the 1990s, today they are also the longest active professional rock band in Czechia. This compilation gathers a selection of tracks from their classic beat period 1965–1971, conceptually sequenced in a new and originally unintended context.
