The opera singer Stefan Kocan is one of the most impressive representatives of the younger generation of Slovak opera singers, well known for his successes both at home and abroad. He has made guest appearances on the most prestigious opera stages and concert podia in Vienna, Munich, Barcelona, Paris, Graz, Hanover, Prague, Bratislava, Chicago, Modena, etc. In 2009 he made his debut at the New York Metropolitan Opera and in 2011 at Milan’s La Scala. He has collaborated with prominent orchestras and conductors (including the Los Angeles Philharmonic under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel). His profile CD presents songs by two great Russian composers, Persian Love Songs op. 34 by Anton Rubinstein and Songs and Dances of Death by Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky, accompanied by the Latvian pianist Aleksandra Pospisil-Borodulina.
Operní zpěvák Štefan Kocán patří mezi nejvýznamnější představitele mladé generace slovenských operních zpěváků, a jeho úspěchy jsou známé nejen na Slovensku, ale i v zahraničí. Hostoval na těch nejprestižnějších operních scénách a koncertních pódiích ve Vídni, Mnichově, Barceloně, Paříži, Grazu, Hannoveru, Praze, Bratislavě, Chicagu, v Modeně a dalších. V roce 2009 debutoval v newyorské Metropolitní opeře a v roku 2011 i v milánské La Scale. Spolupracoval s významnými orchestry a dirigenty (mj. např. i s Los Angeles Philharmonic pod taktovkou Gustava Dudamela).
Jeho profilové CD přináší písně dvou velkých ruských hudebních skladatelů – „Perské milostné písně“, op. 34 Antona Rubinsteina a „ Písně tance a smrti“ Modesta Petroviče Musorgského v doprovodu lotyšské klavíristky Aleksandry Pospíšil-Boroduliny.
