Josef Antonín Plánický, a native of Manětín, worked at the local château for the enlightened and highly musically gifted Countess Marie Gabriela Lažanská as the music teacher of her four children. Gabriela Demeterová recorded the cantatas with her Collegium in their authentic environment, in the beautiful château hall with its original fresco decoration, with ideal acoustics, thus capturing the genius loci of this place. It is rare to capture on recordings the authentic environment in which the music was performed during the composer’s lifetime. For this reason, this recording is a unique work that will continually remind the world and ourselves what a cultural power, full of various treasures, our country has been for centuries.
The CD is released in an exclusive edition – as a CD book with rich photographic material.
It includes extensive accompanying text in Czech and English, totalling 76 pages, where you will find information about the creation of the work itself, about the performers, about the château of Manětín, and also a personal greeting from Gabriela Demeterová. As a bonus, the complete libretto of *Opella ecclesiastica* is included in Czech, Latin, and English.
Josef Antonín Plánický, manětínský rodák, působil na zdejším zámku u osvícené a velice hudebně založené hraběnky Marie Gabriely Lažanské, jako učitel hudby jejich čtyř dětí. Gabriela Demeterová natočila se svým Collegiem kantáty v jejich autentickém prostředí, v překrásném zámeckém sále s původní freskovou výzdobou, s ideální akustikou a zachytila tak Genia loci tohoto místa. Málokdy je možné zachytit na nahrávkách autentické prostředí, ve kterém se hudba za přítomnosti skladatele provozovala. Proto je tato nahrávka unikát, který bude světu i nám neustále připomínat, jakou kulturní velmocí plnou nejrůznějších pokladů po staletí naše země je.
